4BD of late civil director sells for $685K in Marina

Jimmy and Elisiva Jimenez bought a four-bedroom, three bath in Marina at 3089 Bostick Ave. for $685,000 from the trust of Verna Mae Sloan on June 19.
Sloan paid $264,500 for the property in Dec. 1994.
RE/MAX Monterey Peninsula's Kathy Aronson listed the 2,069 home for $749,000.
Sloan, who was a retired Director of Equal Opportunity for Fort Ord and Fort McArthur military bases, passed away Jan. 31. Her husband SFC (Ret.) Robert D. Sloan died in 1979.
Mrs. Sloan earned an associate's in Business from Monterey Peninsula College and bachelor's and master's degrees in Business Administration from Golden Gate University. She had a Ph.D. Degree in Organizational Psychology from International University.
After retirement she remained involved in the community. She was a Golden Heritage Life member and past Secretary and Executive Committee member of the Monterey Peninsula Branch of the NAACP. She also held seats on many agency boards with the United Way, YWCA, the Council on Christian Education, the Cultural Council of Monterey County and the Federal Women's Program Advisory Council.
