Health care CEO spends for $3.125 million in Carmel

Stephen Hemsley bought a three-bedroom, 3.5 bath in Carmel at 24450 S. San Luis Ave. for $3.125 million from Dr. Ray N. Miller and his wife, Kathryn, on July 31.
The Millers paid $595,000 for the property in March 1993.
The 3,197 square foot home was listed for $3.475 million.
Since 2006, Mr. Hemsley has been Chief Executive Officer and President at UnitedHealth Group, a health services provider based in Minneapolis, Minn.
He previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of UnitedHealth Group and is member of the company's board of directors. He joined UnitedHealth in 1997.
Stephen and Barbara Hemsley paid $7.8 million for property at 622 Ferndale Rd. W. in Wayzata, Minn. in Aug. 2005. Wayzata is just West of Minneapolis.
Dr. Miller practices neurosurgery and spine surgery in Monterey.
